South Tangerang, November 27, 2022 - PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk (BFI Finance) has initiated the ‘Ride to Plant’ program and executed it during November. In conjunction with National Health Day commemoration on November 12 and National Tree Planting Day on November 28, employees of BFI Finance bicycled together and stopped by at some locations to plant mangrove seedlings.

The ‘Ride to Plant’ program was carried out in coastal areas in Indramayu (West Java), Surabaya and Gresik (East Java), Brebes (Central Java), and Badung (Bali). Additionally, mangrove replanting was also conducted in Cirebon (West Java), Semarang (Central Java), and Makassar (South Sulawesi), where mangrove trees have already been planted in 2021. In total, there have been approximately 15,000 mangrove trees planted in those eight locations.

The mangrove planting program has been serving as BFI Finance’s contribution to improve standard of living in communities. For actual instance, when a mangrove conservation area is well-conserved, mangrove forest becomes a habitat for marine biota species that have economic value. Many of the mangrove forests are also now operated as ecotourism destinations that bring in livelihoods to their surrounding communities.
