Jakarta, August 30, 2023 – PT BFI Finance Indonesia Tbk (BFI Finance) has successfully attained an award in the TrenAsia ESG Awards 2023 held in Jakarta (08/30/2023). The event was presented by PT Tren Media Berjejaring to appreciate companies in many sectors that were considered capable of escalating exposure related to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) implementation.
Based on evaluation by the awards board of judges, BFI Finance emerged as the winner in multifinance category, bearing the Sustainability title. The evaluation on the company was not solely based on financial performance and annual programs, but also included the company’s commitment in carrying out sustainable business. The board of judges consisted of representatives from the National Committee on Governance Policy (KNKG), Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin Indonesia), ESG practitioners, and research team from TrenAsia.
As cited in the Financial Services Authority (OJK) website, ESG is one of the parameters used in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) implementation. The ESG aspect is a concept that puts forward sustainable development/investment/business practices in three main factors, namely environment, social, and governance. For BFI Finance, those three factors must be kept in line and well balanced for the benefit of business sustainability.
